Kaybree is 2!

Funny, when Kaybree turned 1 I felt like it was ABOUT TIME! Now that she's two I'm thinking ALREADY?! That went fast. You were a baby four months ago. Now you're a full blown little girl!
We didn't do much for your birthday. We went swimming at Grandma Vance's house because the pool is beautiful and there's not much else to do to celebrate a June birthday. I decided a long time ago we'll do a big party for 1, 5, 8, 12 and 16. So this wasn't a huge birthday so we just invited family (plus Melissa and Brekken).

It was fun! You were spoiled.

You're not big on swimming but you enjoy playing on the first step.

It's so cute when you grab Brekken's hand to get him to go somewhere with you. You're pretty bossy but he's sweet and doesn't mind.

Grandpa Vance is the best!

Funny quotes

Kaybree: Yesterday I went to the farm with Amy and Tess and we saw baby goats! Me: Cool! Kaybree: Yeah, they were so cute. For Christmas, will you get me two baby goats? Me: Haha, no. Kaybree: Amy said you would! We love Vertuccio farms. We always get a season pass. You're not allowed to go with Amy anymore. We traded in all of your Halloween candy for some cash and went to Target and bought Shopkins. It was awesome! Apparently all the Shopkins have names so we sat around looking at all the Shopkins and looking up their names. This particular group fit a sports theme and came with a locker to keep them in. The locker has a face but it's not an actual Shopkins so it does not have a name. I told you this and you said "Why didn't Jesus give him a name?!" I laughed for a long time. Added Nov. 16: I felt bad originally posting this because I didn't have any quotes from Eisley. It's not that you're not funny too, you just usually make...

Hope #1

I got an email from our licensing agency letting me know they've been going through their applicants and may have a child who they think is a good match for us. They don't have many details about his past at this point. (They gave me some hints but that's his story to tell.) He's a 15-year-old Hispanic boy. He's on some medication. He's been living in a group home for just over a year. He has some siblings who have been adopted. It doesn't sound like he has lived with a family for a long time. The email actually had a lot of information but it still left a LOT of questions. I think I'll always have a million questions in these situations. I read it about a hundred times in a row. My mind is blank. I find myself piling up all the reasons it won't work. I find myself feeling guilty for that. I find my heart hurting for the life this boy has lived before. I feel hopeful about the life we could offer him. I sent it to Brendon. We haven't had ...
